P&C

The Milton State School Parents & Citizens' Association (P&C) is a group of parents, teachers & local community members who exist to bring our school community together, to better outcomes for our children, via fundraising, discussion, events, ideas & services at school.

The P&C is run by an Executive Committee, who are all parent volunteers. The Executive Committee are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in March and hold their positions for 12 months. The Executive Committee are responsible for the oversight of the P&C, including paid employees across various services.​

We invite anyone with an interest in the school to become a member, come along to meetings and volunteer to assist across the year to be part of this community. Membership requires a form to be filled out & returned, in line with the constitution. This is available here: ​P&C Membership Application Form​

What does the P&C look after?

The P&C at Milton State School is responsible for the below suite of services & activities:

●      Milton Outside School Hours Care (MOSHC)

●      Tuckshop​

●      Uniform Shop

●      Swim Club​

●      Major community event & fundraiser - Fair on the Green​

●      A full social & fundraising calendar, including but not limited to the Welcome Event, Colour Run, Mother's & Special Person's Day Stall, Father's & Special Person's Day Stall, various drives (i.e. pasta, socks, mango), Ladies Day, Parent's Event.

Funds raised through the P&C each year are aligned to the strategic vision and priorities at MSS, and are decided in conjunction with the school executive team and Student Advisory Council. All are welcome to provide input and ideas, via meeting attendance.

In 2025, the P&C has committed to part funding the art program, playground equipment and teacher aides and are very grateful for all involved in fundraising, as participants and volunteers.​

How can you get involved?

●      Attend P&C meetings, held on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in The Hive (library)

●      or online via Teams to listen, learn, suggest & meet members of the community. Remaining dates for 2025 are:

○      Tuesday 16 September

○      Tuesday 28 October​​

○      Tuesday 25 November

●      Read the P&C section of the school newsletter, sent in Weeks 2, 6 and 10 of each term

More about the P&C Services

Milton Outside School Hours Care​ (MOSHC)

●      ​MOSHC runs from 7.00am till 8.45am in the morning and 3.00pm till 6.00pm at night

●      Children must be booked in before attending

●      Vacation care is available over the holidays.

Tuckshop

●      Located lower level of A block.

●      Open Tuesday to Friday 8:30am to 2:00pm.

●      Tuckshop provides a healthy, varied menu for our children, while endeavouring​ to keep our prices as reasonable as possible.

●      Lunch breaks are from 11:00am to 11.30am and 1:00 to 1:50pm.

●      Ordering available via QKR

Uniform Shop

(phone 3514 6313)

●      Located lower level of A Block (next to tuckshop).

●      Open Tuesday 8.30-9.30am and Friday 8.30-9.30am

Swim Club - Milton Marlins

●      Operates during Terms 1 and 4, weekly on Friday nights.

●      Competitors of all ages and standards compete in races for each stroke, aiming to improve on their personal bests and accrue points towards trophies at the end of the season.

●      Gives students experience in the race conditions that they will face when competing for the school at District and Zone levels.

●      Although competition is encouraged, it is done in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Milton Fair on the Green

●      In 2025, our Fair will be held on Saturday October 18

●      The Fair brings our community together with a day filled with fun, rides, performances, food & drinks, displays, stalls and more
