HIGH ACHIEVERS
As
a part of our partnership with the City Schools Cluster, each year
approximately 20 students from years 5 & 6 are invited to be a part
of the High Achievers Program held at Kelvin Grove State College. This
usually takes place in term 2 during school time and the cost is about
$130 per child (indicative cost only – invoice will be issued). There is
a strict academic criteria for students to participate in this program
and students will be selected by the school.
MINI FESTIVALS
In
addition to High Achievers and as part of our City Schools Cluster,
students in Years 3 & 4 have the opportunity to be invited to be
part of Mini Festivals. A number of students participate in enrichment
areas of Design Thinking, Writing and Science. There is selection
criteria and each program runs for approximately 3 ½ days with another ½
day for celebration and showcasing their learning. Costs vary from
approximately $30 to $65. This occurs in term 3.
ICAS
Students
from years 3-6 have the opportunity to participate in the International
Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) competition each year.
Subjects covered are Digital Technologies, Science, Writing, Spelling,
English and Maths. Costs vary depending on how many subjects are
chosen. Registration information should come home around August from the Head of Digital Learning, Mikaela Hird.
