HIGH ACHIEVERS

As a part of our partnership with the City Schools Cluster, each year approximately 20 students from years 5 & 6 are invited to be a part of the High Achievers Program held at Kelvin Grove State College.  This usually takes place in term 2 during school time and the cost is about $130 per child (indicative cost only – invoice will be issued). There is a strict academic criteria for students to participate in this program and students will be selected by the school.

MINI FESTIVALS

In addition to High Achievers and as part of our City Schools Cluster, students in Years 3 & 4 have the opportunity to be invited to be part of Mini Festivals.  A number of students participate in enrichment areas of Design Thinking, Writing and Science.  There is selection criteria and each program runs for approximately 3 ½ days with another ½ day for celebration and showcasing their learning.  Costs vary from approximately $30 to $65.  This occurs in term 3.

ICAS

Students from years 3-6 have the opportunity to participate in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) competition each year.  Subjects covered are Digital Technologies, Science, Writing, Spelling, English and Maths.  Costs vary depending on how many subjects are chosen.  Registration information should come home around August from the Head of Digital Learning, Mikaela Hird.
