Milton Outside School Hours Care (MOSHC) is a school-aged care service licensed by the Milton State School P&C Association. MOSHC offers before and after school care and vacation care for children from Prep to Grade Six.
Our operating hours are:
Before School Care: 7:00am – 9:00am
After School Care: 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Pupil Free Day & Vacation Care: 7:00am – 6:00pm
Public Holidays: Closed
Our aim is to provide developmentally appropriate activities that develop each child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative potential. Some of the highlights of the program include games, MOSHC Radio, The LEGO Room, Natures Corner (garden area) and Just Dance on the Nintendo Switch. There are always art and craft activities available, as well as a chance to be active in one of our outdoor or undercover areas.
MOSHC offers a variety of supervised activities such as art, craft, games, music, gardening, LEGO, home corner, digital media, and outdoor activities. We encourage children to engage in unstructured, free play if they choose. We also provide areas for children to withdraw from activities to read, complete homework or just unwind.
MOSHC staff work collaboratively with children and families to develop a program that is responsive to their needs and interests. We seek to foster self-esteem and confidence in children by including their own ideas in the planning of activities and providing experiences that encourage them to negotiate and cooperate in small groups.
School-aged care provides a unique opportunity for children to develop life-skills and to engage in free, unstructured play. Child-initiated experiences and collaborations occur daily with a range of interesting projects, activities, and interactions.
