Milton Outside School Hours Care (MOSHC) is a not-for-profit, school-aged care service licensed by the Milton State School P&C Association.  MOSHC offers before and after school care and vacation care for grades prep to six.  Our operating hours are:

Before School Care:  7:00am – 9am
After School Care:  3:00pm - 6:00pm
Pupil Free Day & Vacation Care:  7:00am – 6:00pm
Public Holidays:   Closed

MOSHC offers a variety of supervised activities such as story time, art, craft, games, music, gardening, LEGO, home corner, digital media and outdoor activities.  We encourage children to engage in unstructured, free play if they choose.  We also provide areas for children to withdraw from activities to read, complete homework or just unwind.
Our aim is to provide developmentally appropriate activities that develop each child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative potential.  Some of the highlights of the program include role-play games, MOSHC Radio, LEGO Land, Natures Corner (garden area), film making and MOSHC Markets.  There are always art and craft activities available, as well as a chance to be active in one of our outdoor or undercover areas.
MOSHC staff work collaboratively with children and families to develop a program that is responsive to their needs and interests.  We seek to foster self-esteem and confidence in children by including their own ideas in the planning of activities and providing experiences that encourage them to negotiate and cooperate in small groups.
School-aged care provides a unique opportunity for children to develop life-skills and to engage in free, unstructured play.  Child-initiated experiences and collaborations occur on a daily basis with a range of interesting projects, activities and experiences.
If you would like more information about MOSHC, or to obtain an enrolment package please email Gareth Donnelly (MOSHC Coordinator) at admin@moshc.net or phone 3369 3917.

We look forward to welcoming you to MOSHC.

Parent Testimony

I've been a Milton parent for the past four years with two children growing through the school. Although I am grateful for many things, what stands out for me is my experience with MOSCH. The MOSCH program, and the people who make it work, are beyond excellent.

I've been so impressed with the quality of care and programming for my kids – the activities are active, creative, engaging and fun, with just the right balance of child autonomy and adult support.

The carers are ALL lovely. I have seen every one of them interact and engage with my kids, every one not only knows my kid's name, but also knows who I'm looking for when I come to pick up. I have never once thought that someone working at MOSCH wanted to be anywhere else but working with kids. I trust the staff and the program.

And the customer service is just so good! Gareth and Bianca are accessible and responsive. The rules and expectations of using the program are clear. I can get care when I need it, even with unexpected changes in family schedules, and there is never any attitude or inconvenience.

I feel really lucky to have MOSCH as a resource. Our family couldn't work without it. My MOSCH experience is something I tell a lot of people about and I consider it to be one of the best parts of being part of the Milton State School community.
